Sumin: I really like author Kim Cho-yeop, and after discovering her work, I came to enjoy reading novels too. I also recommended “If We Cannot Go at the Speed of Light” on Weverse. It was so fascinating that I thought you could make hundreds of movies set in the worlds of her stories. And even though they’re science fiction and fantasy, I liked them even more because each story had a lesson in it. As for books I’ve enjoyed reading, first of all, “Ordinary Words” (Kim Eana). Even though I’d only read it, I thought, “The author’s thinking is so healthy and profound,” and she felt like a “senior in life” to me. And then there’s “My 29th Birthday: I Decided to Die a Year Later” (Hayama Amari). As the title suggests, it’s about the journey leading up to the day when this person, who decided to die a year later, reaches that point. I’ll stop there, since anything more could be a spoiler. (Laughs) I also recommend “Only One Hana on Earth” (Jeong Se-rang). I don’t usually cry even when I’m watching movies, but these two books were so sad that I even shed tears while reading them. I think I actually get immersed more easily when I’m reading a book than when I’m watching a movie or a drama. When I read just the words and imagine things in the way I want, I feel like before I know it, I’ve become emotionally involved.
