““I have lived in Korea for four years and have read many Korean literary works in English. Each time, I felt, ‘Ah, this is a translation.’ But I was surprised that the two works released this time were written in such excellent English. I think the level is higher than the English I use. (Laughs.)””

Brad (real name Bradley Ray Moore, 28, pictured), an American who plays drums in the popular band Busker Busker, transformed into a literary critic. This took place at a press conference for the “Korean Modern Fiction in English Translation” project, held on the 25th at Book Libero, a bookstore near Hongik University in Seoul. Asia Publishing invited Brad as a “special guest” as it released English translations of “Chinatown,” a short story by established novelist Oh Jung-hee (65), and “There Is No Hanako” by Choi Yun (59). “I have lived in Korea for four years and have read many Korean literary works in English.
