There are so many—because there are so many good books. [If Cats Disappeared from the World] This one, [written by Genki Kawamura]. “If Cats Disappeared from the World” is the first book I ever read while crying. I usually don’t cry when I read books. It’s more a matter of a book being “comforting” or “giving me strength”; I’d never really read a book sobbing my eyes out, but this one [the first book to make Dahyun cry]—I truly read it while crying. The protagonist is living with a terminal illness. Then a devil-like being appears and says, “If you give me one of the things you own, I’ll let you live one more day.” That’s what the story is about. The phone disappears, and the memories of his first love disappear along with it; the precious things I had also begin to disappear. Wow, at the end, after holding it in and holding it in, [the tears finally burst out]… It really makes you think about how precious life is. [Gratitude] It was the kind of book that makes you feel grateful for everything. Since it was truly the first book to make me cry, I think it’s one you can really relate to, so I recommend it.
