“After reading this book, I thought I wanted everyone to find their own happiness and live at their own pace. We can run, but we can also walk or crawl. Everyone has a different way of living, so this book made me realize that we should respect and be considerate of one another. It's a science fiction novel, but its warm, sensitive expressions touch your heart, so anyone should be able to read it without difficulty.”

◆ Today's curator group: MOMOLAND's JooE ◆ Today's book: A Thousand Blues | Cheon Seon-ran | Hubble ◆ “We all need to practice running slowly”…. The novel begins with a line that author Cheon Seon-ran wrote down in her phone's memo app. The sentences, woven together with the author's kindness and elegance, help us reaffirm timeless values such as happiness and comfort, mourning and recovery, and freedom. The stories of the wounded and vulnerable—including Today, a racehorse at risk of being euthanized; Coli, a humanoid jockey whose lower body is broken and who is about to be scrapped; Eunhye, a girl living with a disability; Yeonjae, wandering before a distant future; and Bokyeong, who has lost her companion and repeats an endless process of mourning in time that has come to a standstill—are gathered together like warm blue waves that exclude no one. ◆ Why recommend A Thousand Blues? “After reading this book, I thought I wanted everyone to find their own happiness and live at their own pace. We can run, but we can also walk or crawl. Everyone has a different way of living, so this book made me realize that we should respect and be considerate of one another. It's a science fiction novel, but its warm, sensitive expressions touch your heart, so anyone should be able to read it without difficulty.”
