“As I thought about what book would be good to recommend (or introduce) to all of you—people of different ages and living different kinds of lives who will read this article—I browsed the bookshelves and, after much deliberation, chose this book.”

Why recommend “Things I Couldn’t Quite Say to Myself Back Then”? “Recommending a book always gives me a lot to think about. This time, too, as I wondered what book would be good to recommend (or introduce) to all of you—people of different ages and living different kinds of lives who will read this article—I browsed the bookshelves and, after much deliberation, chose this book.”
