Introducing five books chosen by IU, a bookworm who has kept reading steadily since she was a little girl. 1. Haruhiko Shiratori, *Nietzsche’s Words*, Samho Media. Instagram “dlwlrma”: “Rejoice all the more in this life.” On July 19 last year, IU posted a photo on her Instagram of a passage from *Nietzsche’s Words* that she had underlined. This collection of Nietzsche’s writings was given new life through the work of the renowned Japanese editor-translator Haruhiko Shiratori. It captures the sharp insights and literary sensibility of Nietzsche, the German philosopher and poet. 2. Fyodor Dostoevsky, *The Brothers Karamazov, Volume 2*, Minumsa. “I exist, therefore I love.” She drew attention when she read it while enjoying some chocolate during the filming of JTBC’s *Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast*. The work consists of three volumes and is regarded as the final masterpiece of the Russian master novelist Dostoevsky. Using the framework of a crime novel about patricide, it explores questions of freedom, faith, love, evil, humanity, and salvation through the actions and consciousness of three brothers, each representing passion, reason, and faith. 3. Park Min-gyu, *Pavane for a Dead Princess*.
