Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“I tend to have a lot on my mind, especially before album promotions. I recently picked up again a book I read when I need to find my center.”
“I first read Siddhartha in November 2025. My family is Buddhist, and that summer we all went to see a monk we had been close to for a long time. He gave it to me as a gift, saying, ‘It’s a book I truly cherish and have read over and over, and one that helped me a lot in not losing myself.’”
“Before, whenever things got too hard, I would turn away from the situation and hide behind a mask. That was how I got through life. But I recently realized that someday I would have no choice but to face the weaker side of myself. I also came to understand that when that time comes, I can meet my true self, and the path forward becomes clearer. While I was thinking about those things, I came across Siddhartha, and its sentences came to me as if by fate.”

After ‘EASY’ wrapped up and before we started promoting ‘CRAZY,’ I read a book called *The Madman* by Lee Hyuk-jin. The protagonist was literally a real madman. (Laughs.) So I read it thinking, ‘CRAZY—this person is really CRAZY.’ It was a book about how you can go that far when you become obsessed with something. In this era when everything is changing rapidly, what kind of mindset should we have as we prepare to face the world? What kind of mindset do those who, unseen, quietly bring about change in the world have? The reunification that is sure to come is not simply a burden but an ‘opportunity.’ The very foundation and basis for all of it is the ‘Gospel.’ This Gospel is not simply a message of love; it is the power of God that has come upon us, sinners. JinyoungGOT7ISFJ“I read *Romantic Love and Its Aftermath*. It’s such an adult book that I couldn’t understand all of it, but there was this line: “You can’t be in a relationship on feelings alone.” It meant that feelings of love or liking someone aren’t enough to be with a person; their tastes, depth of thought, and values have to align for you to become truly close to them. Just because you like someone doesn’t mean you can have a deep relationship with them. It made me think that the adults who say that, as time passes, only one or two friends remain really have a point.”

If I met the main character, I’d want to give them a big hug.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“I’m really enjoying it.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I naturally found myself listening to the Analects. If the Analects seem difficult, maybe you could start with short phrases like this so they’re a little easier to read?”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“Recently, I enjoyed reading a book called Little Nicolas. It's like a fairy tale for adults.”
VBTSENTP““I read your book Human Acts while I was in the military, Ms. Han. Congratulations.””
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“Still, I’ve read three of this author’s books, and From the Shore is number one. I was reading it at a bookstore, then bought it right away and kept it.”
RMBTSENTP“Through Demian, the embodiment of the perfect, ideal human being, I discovered the essence of jealousy within myself.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This one. If Cats Disappeared from the World.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“And this book—I'm reading it now.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I recommend it to you.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“So, it was a fun book to read.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I recommend it because it’s such a realistic, relatable read about how suffering can be unavoidable.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“When asked to recommend a book to readers, IU mentioned Haruki Murakami's *Hear the Wind Sing*.”
VBTSENTP“Author! I read Human Acts in the army. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I think I was tempted by that blurb and read it. But it was such a predictable story... I read it in the bookstore and left it there.”
RMBTSENTP““I want to look back on everything from our debut up to now before more time passes.””
DahyunTWICEISFJ““The person who knows how to love themselves is the greatest person.” (From *315 Proverbs Worth Reading Even a Hundred Years from Now*)”
“Reading this book made me think that I should cherish and love myself more.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“It's an interesting book. It's fun.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I sought out and read Pachinko because I suddenly wanted to get a feel for Korea’s modern history.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“[Unread Book with a Pretty Cover #1] 'Don't Let Your Mood Become Your Attitude' by Lemon Psychology”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I regretted thinking, “Why did I only read your books now?””
IUSinger and actressINFJ“He has written many books, such as *Save Me*, *Will You Be There?*, and *Returning in Search of Love*.”
VBTSENTP“I read Human Acts while in the military. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I ended up reading it on a whim because Chanyeol recommended it. When I read essays like this, I feel like I come to understand a wider range of lives a little better, and somehow feel more personally connected. I thought it was the kind of book that draws you into the situations and makes you laugh and cry along with them because they’re so absurd.”
RMBTSENTP“If I had read The Stranger earlier, I wouldn’t have chosen my original name, Rap Monster.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This book also gave me a lot of strength. It felt like it said exactly what I wanted to hear? It’s a book I’ve read several times.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“It felt like a drama that portrayed a very mature love.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“So we bought it together.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“Personally, my goal this year is to read more than twenty books. I really enjoyed reading Human Acts again last year, so this year I’ll read lots of interesting books too.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“A book I'm reading these days. I'm still in the early part, so it's too soon to say what I think of it.”
VBTSENTP“Writer! I read Human Acts in the military. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I think they came up with a really good title. We often say, “I want to die.” But even while saying we want to die, it’s true that we also feel like having soju or eating tteokbokki. As someone who has also gone through dark times, I couldn’t help but relate deeply.”
RMBTSENTP“The book I’d like to recommend is [Eleven at Night] by author Hwang Kyung-shin.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“I bought volumes 1 and 2. I’ve finished volume 1, and I have about half of volume 2 left.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“I thought this really summed up the book The Contradiction very well.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“This is a book called *Mythology*.”
“I’ve been really interested in Greek mythology since I was little. When I was young, I only liked the main figures, but there are so many other gods too, you know. I want to read about them because I’m curious about them…”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I enjoyed author Park So-young’s Snowball. It’s a mystery with sci-fi elements, and it has so many twists. There’s also the pleasure of imagining.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“I watched the movie and read the book, and personally, I thought the book was more beautiful and better.”
VBTSENTP“Author! I read *Human Acts* while I was in the military. Sob, congratulations!”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I immediately bought this author’s Brunch Award-winning book, “An Uncloying Essay Collection.””
RMBTSENTP“I’m reading Erich Fromm’s The Art of Loving.”
“In conclusion… I recommend reading it at least once.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This book helped me a lot. It says exactly what I want to hear. I didn’t read it just once; I read it several times. There are sentences that speak to me the second time, and sentences that speak to me the third time. It’s a book I keep reaching for, so I recommend it to ONCE.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“"thrilling"”
“"like a movie."”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“And I ended up choosing these two.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“This book was written by my uncle, you know?”
IUSinger and actressINFJ““It’s really, really interesting””
VBTSENTP“Author, I read *Human Acts* while I was in the military. Sob. Congratulations!”
RMBTSENTP“‘SAME STORY’”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This is a book I started reading because it was at the TWICE dorm, and I think this book is exactly what its title says: “doing something for myself.””
Karinaaespa memberENFP“Give it a read. It’s short, so you can finish it quickly.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“I'm slightly in love with it”
GaeulIVEISTJ“So, if it hadn’t been this cover…”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“Not long ago, I read The Unbearable Lightness of Being, which tells the story of four men and women who are very different from one another. It seems to me that people are born as light as feathers and gradually take on weight as they go through life. Personally, I thought Sabina’s life was wonderful.”
VBTSENTP“Writer! I read *Human Acts* in the military.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ““Oppa, what book is that?” I tried reading it, and it was so good. [A book I turn to when things are hard] I think it’s a book I take out whenever I’m having a hard time.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“Recently, I had a short flight schedule, so I once brought only two books. One of them was so entertaining that I finished it on the plane. It was Lee Do-woo’s *Mail from Mailbox No. 110*. It’s a love story about people in their thirties, and it’s really fun. The book is a bit thick, but I read it almost as if I were watching a drama.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“I managed to get to Chapter 3.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I regretted not having read your books sooner.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“I like it. I especially like it then, too. It makes me feel very calm and lets me think a lot, so I’ve been writing quite a lot of lyrics. I like it.”
VBTSENTP“Recently, the book I’ve been trying to read is Philip Chesterfield’s My Son, Life Is Too Short to Waste Time.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“You don’t have to start from the beginning; you can open the book wherever you like and read. It was a book that had been at home because my older brother had received it as a gift, and when I read it, I thought it was so good. I take it out whenever I’m having a hard time.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“Jeolchang is really fun.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I think I first saw this in the bestseller section [Actor Park Jeong-min’s PICK, “The Real Thing”]. I also understood that actor Park Jeong-min had recommended it, and hearing that made me even more curious about the novel.”
“[I like long novels] I tend to like long novels, but since The Real Thing is a short-story collection, it reads really easily and quickly × 2, you know? So [Gaeul’s Book Club reading journal / Recommended for people who find reading difficult] I think it would be a really good book for people who find books difficult and want to challenge themselves.”
“[Munsu: left behind by Granny Jangsu, a shaman with no god] And since the subject itself is shamanism, [Granny Jangsu / Sin-aegi: Granny Jangsu, who left Munsu and became the tutelary deity of a spirit-afflicted person] it feels very fresh, but also has that eeriness. And I didn’t know this, but when I looked it up, [honmono: real / nisemono: fake] I found that “honmono” means “real.” So, between me (Munsu), who goes mad and devotes myself to it like that, and Sin-aegi, who received the spirit initiation, which one is the real one? At the end, the two of them perform a gut ritual like mad [Spoiler warning]. That scene was, as expected, the most memorable. [A book that made me think a lot about “what does ‘real’ actually mean?”] It was a book that made me think a lot about what it means to be real.”
“[Author Sung Hae-na, born in 1994] So I understand that this author is young, and our generation really is one that grew up watching videos rather than reading books, right? I heard that when the author writes, she writes in a way that makes it play out like a video, and I felt that too. I was impressed, thinking, “So a picture can form in my mind just from imagining it.” But I think it would be fun if this came out as a drama or a movie. I think that would be even more fun, because a gut ritual has such strong imagery.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“Guillaume Musso's *Will You Be There?* is a book I read in middle school. I liked it so much that I read it several times.”
VBTSENTP“"I read 'The Vegetarian' (2007) while serving in the military. Congratulations,"”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This is also a book I really did order from Yes24 recently, you know? It arrived really quickly (laughs). I bought volumes 1 and 2; I’ve finished volume 1, and have about half of volume 2 left.”
