JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“It’s Hwang Sok-yong’s The Evening Star. I first read this book in my second year of high school. By chance, I picked just one book from the many in the library, and it was The Evening Star. I was thinking a lot about my future at the time, so the main character, Yu Jun, felt just like me.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“And I like poetry collections. I really enjoyed reading the collection The Definition of Love Is a Cat.”
DoyeonI.O.IISTP-A“I enjoyed reading Han Kang’s Love of Yeosu and The Vegetarian, Yang Gui-ja’s Contradiction, and Jeong Dae-geon’s Torrent, among others.”
Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“There’s a book by bell hooks called All About Love. It’s still my favorite work. Picking a favorite is so hard, especially for someone like me. (laughs) It taught me about the importance of community and how to create a culture where love can exist. So it also made me reflect a lot on my work with LE SSERAFIM. I think I would have come to this realization much later if I hadn’t read this book. The timing of when I read it, too, makes it a meaningful book. I’ve talked about it a lot with the members, so the memories I have connected with All About Love are incredibly precious to me.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“Actually, I was in the library club in my first year of high school, and around my second year I joined another club. Was it the economics club? We read things like 『The Prince』 and 『An Essay on the Principle of Population』, summarized them, and gave presentations in PowerPoint.”
HyunjinStray KidsINFP“I tend to like books, so I try to read.”
HyeongseopHyeongseop (TEMPEST)INFJ“My attitude seems to have changed, so I recommend reading the short story called *Ahopsu Gawi*.”
JinyoungGOT7ISFJ“It’s a book that gives me a sense of security. The protagonist is very conflicted and struggling, but those are also universal human emotions, so paradoxically, it makes me feel secure.”
Jang WonyoungIVEESTJ““I read the Analects and so much of it really resonates with me. I love learning from it. One thing that comes to mind is, ‘The noble person is at ease, while the petty person is always anxious.’ That brings comfort to my heart.””
IUSinger and actressINFJ““I find myself chuckling, yet somehow there isn’t a single scene that doesn’t leave some corner of my heart sad. Conversely, even in a single leaf, even in one cheerful line of dialogue from the radio by my late senior Shin Hae-chul, an inevitable sadness lingers. But perhaps I’m intoxicated by the velvetleaf forest; strangely, I keep chuckling.””
SuminSTAYCISFJ“I also recommend “One Person on Earth” (Jung Se-rang).”
VBTSENTP“I heard it was interesting.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“When I was really into novels, I read the Japanese novel *The Age-70 Death Bill Passes*.”
LilyNMIXXENFP“Lily's book rec for today: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd - Agatha Christie.”
RMBTSENTP“Yes, Director Bang said that this book was his bible in his twenties, and that it would be very helpful for someone like me. I’m going to make time to read it.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“The first book I cried while reading”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“The premise of the novel is very unique.”
WonwooSEVENTEENINFP“I also want to reread the Sherlock Holmes series, haha.”
“Ah, yes. Among the members, I like reading, so I often seek out books. I haven’t been able to read lately, but during the <Mansae> promotions, I’ve been reading <Sherlock Holmes>. I really like detective novels, especially the Holmes series; it really suits my taste.”
“I really like it.”
“Was it The Hound of the Baskervilles?”
“I learned about it through the novels and watched the English drama, too.”
“I like the Sherlock Holmes series.”
“Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles”
“Sherlock Holmes, haha.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“Knulp is a book I found after reading Demian and becoming curious about Hermann Hesse’s work.”

“What struck me the most was…”
“After Gu dies, Dam becomes determined to eat him”
“But as I was reading…”
“I knew what the plot was about before I started reading”
“By the time I finished reading, I was kind of convinced It felt like that”
“There were so many lines that resonated with me”
“But that book is really polarizing”
“There are a lot of graphic descriptions too”
“But the people who like it will really like it”
“I personally loved it!”
“I did well in January The book for January was 'Hunger'”
DoyeonI.O.IISTP-A“I was so absorbed in the work that I read it in one sitting even while carrying out activities. I even personally recommended it to the members.”
Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“Last year, my manager gave me *We Do Not Part* as a gift. I received a lot of comfort from reading this book.”
“I still remember a sentence that went, “It must have been something like a snail advancing on the edge of a blade.” When I read that, I cried so much. I think that’s the charm of fiction.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“Since it was recommended in many places as a classic masterpiece, I trusted those recommendations and read it. There’s a reason a book is a proven classic.”
HyunjinStray KidsINFP“I bought the book! I'll enjoy reading it.”
HyeongseopHyeongseop (TEMPEST)INFJ“How to boost your courage and confidence, recommended by Hyeongseop 🐰🩵📚📖”
JinyoungGOT7ISFJ“Professor Jung Jae-seung’s *Twelve Steps*. It was the first book I read in the military. It made me realize that what I’m worrying about and finding difficult right now is actually perfectly natural. It was a book that guided me so I wouldn’t fall into self-pity.”
Jang WonyoungIVEESTJ“I found *The Buddha’s Words, Newly Translated* really impressive, and when I heard those words, they gave me so much strength, so they stayed with me.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“I really enjoyed reading a book called *One Very Light Feather*.”
SuminSTAYCISFJ“It has helped me a lot, so I often recommend it to people around me.”
VBTSENTP“I read your book *Human Acts* while I was in the military. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I thought it was art that I, as a Korean Confucian girl, couldn't understand. Maybe it was because some parts were difficult, or because the characters were hard to remember. Let's try reading it again in about six months.”
LilyNMIXXENFP“My favorite series is Percy Jackson.”
RMBTSENTP“I read two books: Han Kang’s Human Acts and the huge bestseller Kim Ji-young, Born 1982. Both had a lot to say, and I think they made me feel many things. I read Human Acts on the plane to Europe and then at a hotel there. Even though I was in such a pleasant setting, reading the book felt really emotionally difficult. Her writing is so vivid and skillful. I think those books left a strong impression on me.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“I remember reading this book while crying. I hardly ever cry when I’m reading. The protagonist has a terminal illness.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“Shoko's Smile is so much fun, too. Honestly, there were a few episodes I didn't quite understand, but it was still a novel that moved me deeply.”
WonwooSEVENTEENINFP“Even when I read books, I imagine all the scenes as I go.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I first read this book in high school. As a trainee, I felt slightly off the usual path, while my friends seemed to be studying hard, going to university, and following a smooth course. I felt anxious because I didn’t know when I would debut as an idol singer. What God says to Knulp felt as though it was being said to me, and it brought me great comfort.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“Narin had recommended me a book called No Longer Human...”
DoyeonI.O.IISTP-A“I’ve only read about twenty pages, but you know that thrilling feeling, that kind of feeling…”
Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“It's a book I really like.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I like writing handwritten letters, and I’m very grateful to receive them, too. A letter is something you put your heart into, and you write it because you really like that person. In fact, (fans) can’t always see me. There are so many times when we’re far apart, but when I think that they must have pressed their feelings into each and every character as they wrote while thinking of me, I really can’t take the letters lightly. I feel like I get a lot of strength from reading them.”
HyeongseopHyeongseop (TEMPEST)INFJ“It’s Kim Byeol-ah’s novel Passionate Love. I haven’t actually read it recently, but it’s a book I recommend.”
JinyoungGOT7ISFJ“I read *Romantic Love and Its Aftermath*. It’s such an adult book that I couldn’t understand all of it, but there was this line: “You can’t be in a relationship on feelings alone.” It meant that feelings of love or liking someone aren’t enough to be with a person; their tastes, depth of thought, and values have to align for you to become truly close to them. Just because you like someone doesn’t mean you can have a deep relationship with them. It made me think that the adults who say that, as time passes, only one or two friends remain really have a point.”
Jang WonyoungIVEESTJ“When you’re working, there are moments when it gets difficult, and when that happens, if you read this book, there’s nothing in the world to get angry about.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“I made “Zeze” from the perspective of Minginho, the lime-orange tree in the novel, and Zeze is innocent while also cruel in some ways. Looking at the character alone, he has many contradictions. That’s why I found him appealing and sexy.”
VBTSENTP““Writer! I read *Human Acts* in the military. Sob, congratulations!””
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“Hahaha, if my mom sees what I read, she might say something, but these are the books I picked up from January through March at the beginning of this year while talking about things like “the energy of the universe.” I think The Nature of Money and Rich Dad Poor Dad are really books worth reading two or three times, and the other books left me with a lesson along the lines of “use your heart for good.” People shouldn’t live narrow-mindedly, you know.”
LilyNMIXXENFP“Achilles. I really love that book.”
RMBTSENTP“It was impressive because it had so much to say.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This is the first book I’ve ever read while crying.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“I can now carry the collection of poems by Han Kang, which I received as a gift, in my bag.”
WonwooSEVENTEENINFP“These days, I’m reading a book called “Dallergut’s Dream Department Store.” When the novel talks about the dream department store, I can picture it in my mind. I read while imagining myself shopping there.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I think every artist should read it at least once”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“I recently read Philosophy Changes the Weather. I’ve always been quite interested in philosophy and found it fascinating, but this book discussed philosophy through everyday topics that were easy to relate to, so I really enjoyed it. After reading it, I wanted to try books that explore philosophy in greater depth.”
DoyeonI.O.IISTP-A“A book I found because I was feeling a strong thirst for travel”
Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“Almost everything I know about love, I learned from my relationships with my longtime female friends. Love is laughing together so hard you can hardly breathe. It’s walking down the street together on a Saturday night and feeling that the whole city belongs to us.”
“I recently read the memoir Everything I Know About Love. The author talks about what she realized after spending her life pursuing romantic love.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I regretted not having read this book sooner.”
JinyoungGOT7ISFJ“The book *The Power of Being Alone* was a comfort to me. I read it when I was consumed by self-reproach, wondering if there was something wrong with me.”
Jang WonyoungIVEESTJ“Among the books I’ve read recently is one called *Reading Schopenhauer at Forty*. I wanted to read it when I was 20, so I did.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“Of the books I’ve finished recently, the one I liked best was I Said It Was Goodbye ㅠㅠ”
VBTSENTP“I read your book *Human Acts* while I was in the military. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“Books are difficult. I didn’t understand it, so I closed it around halfway through.”
LilyNMIXXENFP“If you’ve read even one book, you’re a reader.”
RMBTSENTP“I’m also reading Banana Yoshimoto’s *Kitchen* because I had it at home.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“A book that gave me strength.”
“A book that says exactly what you want to hear.”
“A book that feels different every time I read it.”
“A book I keep reaching for.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“It's really fun.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“He is such an ardent fan of Park Saeroyi that he read the entire Itaewon Class webtoon in just one full day.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“It isn't a classic itself, but I have a book about classics: 『Classics Answered: On the Life We Ought to Live』.”
“It's a book about how we ought to live this difficult life. Nothing in it feels difficult; it just tells you plainly, point by point. It's very clear.”
“Classics are actually difficult, and you can interpret them in so many different ways. I think that's part of the appeal of reading a book about a classic, too. You get to read that author's distinctive interpretation, and there's the pleasure of thinking, 'I found that classic difficult or it didn't really resonate with me when I read it, but I can read it this way too.' I think it's a really good thing. I think the real answers lie in the classics.”
DoyeonI.O.IISTP-A““I was drawn to the line on the first page of this book, ‘You’re crazy because of the person you love,’ so I bought it right away and read it.””
Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“I remember crying so much when I read The Giving Tree as a child.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“Watching this, I thought, “The mystery novels I’ve read up to now were only fragments. The real roots were here.””
IUSinger and actressINFJ“I found a lot of good sentences.”
VBTSENTP“Cool, cool. #LifeBalancer”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I really related to it as I read. As I wondered whether I might be that person—or maybe I was that person—and tried putting myself in one situation after another, I found myself at the last page. After reading the final page, I bought it right away and brought it home.”
LilyNMIXXENFP“Prince is actually my favorite of the whole series”
RMBTSENTP“I was surprised while reading because things I usually thought about were expressed so well in words.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“It’s a very warm novel about things that happen in a convenience store. They’re stories that could happen in our everyday lives, and they move and comfort you. I read it all in one sitting.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP““I’ve started another new book.””
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I have so much I want to talk about that even writing it as an epic novel on the scale of *Toji* wouldn’t be enough, but…”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“[Recently Read Book #2] This is The Path of the Dinosaur's Movement by KIM HWA JIN.”
“On my day off, I went to Kyobo Book Centre with my sister.”
“I just wanted to spend a day browsing books and stuff… [A literary girl's day].”
“So I went with my sister, browsed around, and bought this book.”
“[The reason she picked this book] When I got to Kyobo Book Centre, there were so many books—well, it is a bookstore—so I felt overwhelmed.”
“I wanted to buy a good one, something fun that I’d really enjoy reading. I wanted to pick the perfect book.”
“So, inside Kyobo Book Centre, I looked up book descriptions on my phone and tried to see which book caught my eye.”
“[The title alone sounds fun] I saw the title The Path of the Dinosaur's Movement.”
“[GAWON is a famous dinosaur lover] I love dinosaurs, right?”
“I thought, “I’m not sure about it, but let’s just go for it.””
“It’s also a novel, which I love. There was a line that really got to me.”
“Before I buy a book, I read the whole blurb.”
“[GAWON later found it and sent it] There was a line in the blurb that really resonated with me.”
“This book has a strong slice-of-life vibe, and the perspective changes in every section.”
“[The story of four friends] You can read each person’s perspective on the process of losing a cherished friend and the emotions they experience as they go through it.”
“I enjoyed reading that, too. There were lots of cute and relatable lines.”
““I wrote to hold, to leave behind, and to remember.” “So I wouldn’t forget.” “To record it before I forget.” “To keep it by recording it.””
““I still can’t tell apart the moments when lies and truth are stuck together. A lie is nothing else but the act of deceiving oneself—truly believing that what I’m saying right now is sincere. Lies come from sincerity.””
“Lines like these come up throughout the book.”
“So even within this kind of everyday story, thoughts you usually keep to yourself pop up from time to time, which made it a fun book to read.”
“The book for February was supposed to be this one, [the book in question] The Path of the Dinosaur's Movement, but I couldn’t finish it, so I finished it in early March.”
DoyeonI.O.IISTP-A“Anne Napolitano’s novel Hello Beautiful”
Huh YunjinLE SSERAFIMINFJ“I read Ernest Hemingway’s *The Old Man and the Sea*, and it was so much fun. It’s quite short, but I finished it in about two hours.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“This book was written by my uncle—my aunt’s husband, you know?”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“It was so much fun that I read it quickly.”
VBTSENTP“I think I can take one step closer to becoming that kind of person only if I’m happy first and receive energy.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“Saying, “Am I a fan or a disciple?”—the book I’ve been working hard to read lately. I wonder if I’m going to stop being a fan and become a disciple now, or if I’ve become more resolute at heart. Because I’ve lived like a fan, I find stories about life in the world really interesting; I’ve thought I was lucky, liked having lots of money, and felt proud when I achieved my goals. But I don’t want to miss it.”
LilyNMIXXENFP“It really feels like a book tailored just for Lily.”
RMBTSENTP““It’s kind of like a debate among philosophers about love, and, how should I put it, you can seriously think again about how love is being consumed in modern society, our attitudes toward dating, and things like that.””
DahyunTWICEISFJ“In life, you do things with many different people, and this book helps you keep the focus on yourself amid all that. I especially want to share the words, 'You don't have to do it well.' I recently tried acting. Wanting to do well matters, but that desire can also make you feel pressured and nervous. 'So what if I don't do it well?' Sometimes it's good to take things lightly”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“Oh, I started reading Guns, Germs, and Steel, but then I stopped, remember? It was so hard.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I’d like to introduce a book called At Dusk. Its main character is also extremely busy. This person is worn down by life and has a very hard time, yet still meets many people, falls in love, and keeps doing their best to live. I think seeing that comforted me too. If I met the main character, I’d want to give them a big hug.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“I’m really enjoying it.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I naturally found myself listening to the Analects. If the Analects seem difficult, maybe you could start with short phrases like this so they’re a little easier to read?”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“Recently, I enjoyed reading a book called Little Nicolas. It's like a fairy tale for adults.”
VBTSENTP““I read your book Human Acts while I was in the military, Ms. Han. Congratulations.””
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“Still, I’ve read three of this author’s books, and From the Shore is number one. I was reading it at a bookstore, then bought it right away and kept it.”
RMBTSENTP“Through Demian, the embodiment of the perfect, ideal human being, I discovered the essence of jealousy within myself.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This one. If Cats Disappeared from the World.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“And this book—I'm reading it now.”
JuyeonTHE BOYZENTP-T“I recommend it to you.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“So, it was a fun book to read.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“I recommend it because it’s such a realistic, relatable read about how suffering can be unavoidable.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“When asked to recommend a book to readers, IU mentioned Haruki Murakami's *Hear the Wind Sing*.”
VBTSENTP“Author! I read Human Acts in the army. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I think I was tempted by that blurb and read it. But it was such a predictable story... I read it in the bookstore and left it there.”

GaeulIVEISTJ“I regretted thinking, “Why did I only read your books now?””
IUSinger and actressINFJ“He has written many books, such as *Save Me*, *Will You Be There?*, and *Returning in Search of Love*.”
VBTSENTP“I read Human Acts while in the military. Congratulations.”
Im Do HwaAOAISTJ“I ended up reading it on a whim because Chanyeol recommended it. When I read essays like this, I feel like I come to understand a wider range of lives a little better, and somehow feel more personally connected. I thought it was the kind of book that draws you into the situations and makes you laugh and cry along with them because they’re so absurd.”
RMBTSENTP“If I had read The Stranger earlier, I wouldn’t have chosen my original name, Rap Monster.”
DahyunTWICEISFJ“This book also gave me a lot of strength. It felt like it said exactly what I wanted to hear? It’s a book I’ve read several times.”
Karinaaespa memberENFP“It felt like a drama that portrayed a very mature love.”
GawonMEOVVINTJ“So we bought it together.”
GaeulIVEISTJ“Personally, my goal this year is to read more than twenty books. I really enjoyed reading Human Acts again last year, so this year I’ll read lots of interesting books too.”
IUSinger and actressINFJ“A book I'm reading these days. I'm still in the early part, so it's too soon to say what I think of it.”
